Kolkata Gojukai Karate – Do Kenbukan (an affiliate of India JKF Gojukai/Takuji-Kenbukan Association) organized its annual event – “ZENITH 2021 – 8th Inter School/College Virtual Karate – Do Tournament” on 9th and 10th October 2021.
Sensei Dipak Kumar Shaw was the Chief Tournament Referee for the event. He is also a qualified National Referee & Judge and the All India representative of World JKF Gojukai/Takuji-Kenbukan Association. 10 qualified Referees and Judges conducted the whole event under his supervision, where 121 participants took part and represented around 12 schools and colleges from all over West Bengal.
Kihons (Basics of Karate for Beginners), Kata (Solo performance for all) and Kumite (Shaedow Fighting for all) where the various categories in which all the participants competed. In total there were 25 categories, for boys and girls separately, where the participants showed their prowess and skill.
In the Closing Ceremony, Kyoshi Stanko Kumer (President of World JKF Gojukai/Takuji-Kenbukan Association) gave a wonderful and encouraging speech to all the participants and congratulated all the medal winners of the event. The occasion was also graced by the inspiring speech of Hanshi Premjit Sen (President of Karate Do Association of Bengal), who encouraged everyone to be positive and keep practicing everyday to be ready to face any situation.
The virtual Closing Ceremony was ended with a video where all the activities of the Association, for the past one year, were shown. In his Vote of Thanks, Sensei Dipak Kumar Shaw thanked all the parents, who encouraged their wards to participate in this event and appreciated the efforts of all the participants, who showed their best in these trying times of the pandemic. All the winners will be awarded with a Medal and Certificates will be given to one and all.
