31st Haryana State Open Karate Championships

The 31st Haryana State Open Karate Championships was organized by Haryana State Karate Association at Yoga Hall, Nehru Park Yamunanagar on 31st July, 2021 and 1st August 2021.

Competitions were held in Kata and Kumite of junior, cadet, under-21 and senior players of men’s and women’s categories.

Haryana State Karate Association President Shihan Jaiparkash Singh informed that the players who won gold medals in this competition would represent the state in the National Chsmpionships. The National Championship is to be organized by Karate India Organization in the next month.

General Secretary of the Association Shri Narender Singh Mor informed that in the competition, more than 300 participants from across the state displayed their talent and won medals in various competitions. Medal winners of National and International competitions also participated in the competition. Mr. Mor informed that the Haryana State Karate Federation is working in the state since 1986 and is affiliated with Haryana Olympic Association since 1988. HSKA is also affiliated with the National apex body of Karate Sport e.i. Karate India Organization, which is further affiliated member of World Karate Federation and Asian Karate Federation. Mr. Mor added that we have strictly followed the Covid protocal and rules in the competition. Masks were mandatory for all, sanitizers and digital thermometers were used so that there was no laxity.

The competition has been conducted under the supervision of World Karate Federation qualified and certified referee and judge Sensei Ganesh Rajput and Asian Karate Federation quakified and certified referee and judge Mr. Sunil Rathi.

Treasurer of Association and National Coach Shri Bharat Yadav said that the players have displayed excellent art in the competition, despite the Covid, there was no dearth in the players’ spirit and technique.

The players says that the State Association has organized the competition at the right time, we are all very happy, sports and competition are as important as breath for a player. Due to the Covid Protocol, rules, the opening, closing ceremony of the competition was not organized, even the winning players took their own medals kept in the tray and put them around their necks. Although the Championships was declared open by the former Member of WKF technical Commission and President of the South Asian Karate Federation Shihan Bharat Sharma. He expressed his happiness for organizing such a meaningful State Championships.

On this occasion the following technical officials and coaches Mr. Muneet Berwal, Krishna Singroha, Rohit Verma, Vijay, Kusum Dev, Sanjay, Naveen Mokhra, Rajesh Takshak, Mukesh Saroha etc. were present.
