“8TH INTERNATIONAL KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP 2024 – INDIAN CHALLENGERS’ CUP”SUCCESSFULLY CONDUCTED IN A GRAND WAY AT NETAJI INDOOR STADIUM (KOLKATA) FROM 26TH TO 28TH JULY 2024

All India Seishinkai Shitoryu Karate Do Federation organized it’s grand “8th International Karate Championship – Indian Challengers’ Cup” at the Netaji Indoor Stadium (Kolkata) from 26th to 29th July 2024.

Around 7000 players took part in this event where players from Malaysia, Indonesia, Nepal, Bangladesh and host India took part in front of a packed Stadium on both the days. The first day of the Tournament saw the Cadet, Junior, Senior and the Master categories taking place, while the second day included the Sub-Junior categories which included players starting as young as 5 years to 13 years.

The Chief Organizer and the man behind this mega event was Hanshi Premjit Sen, who himself is a sporting legend and the pride of Bengal in sports. He is the first Bengali to become a World Karate Federation (WKF) & Asian Karate Federation (AKF) Referee & Judge both. He has also achieved the prestigious Bronze Pin for his contribution in Karate, by WKF. Presently he is holding an important position as the Referee Commission Chairman of Karate India Organisation (KIO). He is also the President of Karate Do Association of Bengal (KAB).

The most attractive event of the Championship was the Team Kumite event for the Boys and Girls. The enthusiasm shown at this event was electrifying as every member of the Team wanted to grab the Champion’s Trophy. A total sum of Rs. 3 Lakhs were given to the proud winners of this nail-biting event. Moreover, the female Team Kumite category emphasized on popularizing and encouraging the women in our society and showcase the women-empowerment in all. The entire event was telecasted LIVE on various social media platforms.
