All three gold medals came from the Kumite event of karate.

Tuesday morning started with the success of Al Amin. Who won the second gold medal for Bangladesh in the meet and first of the three in karate.

Al Amin won gold in the 60kg Kumite karate event. Al Amin beat his opponent from Pakistan by four points to secure gold. Nepal won bronze in the same event.

Al Amin said that he does not want to stop here. He wants to succeed at the world stage.

“I want to be successful at the world stage. To achieve that I need better coaches and need to train abroad. If I get proper training I think I can be successful at a global stage.” he said in an instant reaction.

Second gold came in the women’s division. Marzan Akhter defeated Pakistan’s Kawser Sana by 4-3 points in the -55kg category.

Marzan expressed her gratitude towards the almighty and her parents for success. “I thank the almighty for this opportunity. It is a great moment for me. and I would like to thank my parents. They have encouraged me a lot.”

Marzan’s success was followed by another gold in the same discipline. This time the top prize was secured by Humayra Akhter in the -61kg category. She also won bronze on Monday, in the individual Kata event of karate.

Humayra defeated Nepal’s Anu Gurang in her final bout to secure the gold. She won the gold medal match by 5-2 points.
