The Karate Association of Bengal (KAB) proudly announces the stellar performance of its players at the 9th South Asian Karate Do Championship and 1st South Asian Youth Karate Cup 2025, held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium, Colombo, Sri Lanka, from 4th to 6th July 2025.
Under the dynamic leadership of Hanshi Premjit Sen (President, KAB) and Hanshi Joydeb Mondal (General Secretary, KAB), Bengal athletes brought glory to the nation by securing an impressive medal tally: 2 Gold, 1 Silver, and 3 Bronze at this prestigious international event.
🥇 Gold Medals:
• Bipasha Paul – Female Cadet Kata
• Debayush Mitra – Male Cadet Kata
🥈 Silver Medal:
• Junior Team Kata (Female) – Bipasha Paul, Diya Roy, and Ujjesha Ghosh
🥉 Bronze Medals:
• Senior Team Kata (Female) – Debanjali Karmakar, Rupkatha Dutt, Aishika Ghosh, and Sohini Chatterjee
• Nisha Vidyarthi – Female Kumite
• Anushka Roy – Female Kumite
To recognize their commitment and excellence, each player received a sponsorship of ₹10,000/- from KAB.
This remarkable success once again underscores the rising talent of Bengal’s karatekas on the international stage and showcases the effectiveness of KAB’s structured training and development program.

KAB is an officially recognised body under the Bengal Olympic Association (BOA) and Karate India Organisation (KIO), the latter being affiliated with the World Karate Federation (WKF)—a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
