India’s Karate Warriors Conquer Malaysia: Silent Knight Karate Cup 2025 Highlights

Bengal Karate Athletes in Indian Team Shine at 14th Silent Knight Karate Cup 2025

Bengal karate athletes delivered an outstanding performance at the prestigious 14th Silent Knight Karate Cup 2025, held at Titiwangsa Stadium under the sanction of the Malaysian Karate Federation.

The event was graced by esteemed personalities, including Mr. Nasir Ali, General Secretary of the Olympic Council of Malaysia; Hanshi Premjit Sen as Special Guest; Datuk Wira, President of the Malaysian Karate Federation; and Sensei Arivalagan, Vice President of the Malaysian Karate Federation.

Team India made the nation proud by clinching a total of 42 medals — 6 Gold, 18 Silver, and 18 Bronze — showcasing exceptional skill, determination, and sportsmanship. Notably, Bengal athletes contributed 12 medals to this impressive haul.

Bengal’s Shivam Poddar captured Gold in the Senior Kumite event, defeating elite champions from Malaysia, Singapore, and India after an intense five-round bout. Aishika Ghosh secured Silver in the Senior Female Kumite category, winning against formidable opponents from Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Singapore after a thrilling four-round match.

In the team events, Bengal athletes further contributed to India’s medal tally with several remarkable wins: Gold in the Below 9 Female Team Kumite (Anaya Pareek, Silvina Saha, Prestha Dey); Silver in the 10–11 Years Male Team Kata (Shreyansh Jha, Sk Ishan Wafi, Joyjeet Mondal); Bronze in the 14–17 Years Male Team Kata (Devansh Bose, Ibhan Nandi, Aryan Agarwal, Subham Ram), Cadet Male Team Kumite (Devansh Bose, Subham Ram, Ibhan Nandi), Cadet Female Team Kata (Kaushika Ghosh, Rupsha Ghatak, Madhushree Chatterjee), Senior Female Team Kata (Aishika Ghosh, Ridhi Jain, Shreyashi Chanda), and Junior Female Team Kumite (Madhushree Chatterjee).

In individual events, apart from Shivam and Aishika’s stellar finishes, Siyashman Giri secured a Silver in the Sub-Junior Kumite category, and Pritisha Dey won Bronze in the Sub-Junior Female Kata division.

The remarkable success of the Indian team is a testament to the exceptional guidance of renowned world coach, Hanshi Premjit Sen. His tireless dedication, expertise, and visionary leadership have consistently propelled Indian athletes to new heights on the international stage, inspiring a generation of karate champions.

The Silent Knight Karate Cup, known for its high technical standards and fierce competition, saw participation from top athletes representing various countries. Hanshi Joydeb Mondal, General Secretary of Karate Do Association of Bengal, was present as a VIP delegate and made significant contributions. Sensei Shabaz Khan, Assistant Coach, performed his duties with utmost dedication.
