The development and preparation of the upcoming 2021 World Senior Championships were on top of the agenda of WKF President Antonio Espinós’ visit to Dubai this week.
Mr Espinós travelled to Dubai to analyse the progress of the 2021 World Senior Championships which will be held in the Emirate city from November 16 to 21 2021.
The head of Karate’s international governing body met with the local organising committee to ensure the best conditions for the anticipated event and to discuss ways to continue raising the bar of Karate’s biggest tournament. Headed by AKF and UAE Karate Federation President Major General Nasser Alrazooqi, the gathering was held with the objective to review the main elements of the championships.
“I want to thank Major General Nasser Alrazooqi and his team for their time today and for their efforts to make the 2021 World Senior Championships a truly memorable event. I am sure that with their expertise in the organisation of major events and their attention to detail, the tournament in November will continue the remarkable progress of our World Championships,” said WKF President Antonio Espinós.
“The World Championships in Dubai will be a truly memorable event. Not only they will be the first World Championships after our Olympic debut; it will be the opportunity to celebrate the progress of Karate in the 50 +1 years of WKF’s history,” added Mr Espinós.
The 25th edition of the World Senior Championships will take place in Dubai (UAE) from November 16 to 21, 2021. The event was originally scheduled to be held in 2020 but was postponed to 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
