Ranchi witnessed a historic transformation as the 23rd All India Inter School & Senior Karate Championship – Federation Cup unfolded in grand fashion, firmly establishing the city as a national centre of martial arts excellence. The championship set new benchmarks in scale, quality and unity within Indian karate.
With the participation of over 1,500 athletes from 17 states, the event emerged as one of the largest and most prestigious karate championships in the country. Across two electrifying days, the tatami became the stage for extraordinary displays of courage, discipline and elite technique as competitors contested fiercely in kata and kumite events across all age and weight categories.
At the heart of this monumental championship stood Hanshi Premjit Sen — legendary master, international referee and one of India’s most respected pioneers of karate. His visionary leadership, decades of service and unwavering commitment to athlete development elevated the championship into a defining movement for Indian martial arts. Under his guidance, the Federation Cup reached unprecedented levels of professionalism, participation and national recognition.
The championship was ceremonially inaugurated by Shri Sanjay Seth, Hon’ble Minister of State for Defence, Government of India, whose inspiring address on discipline, resilience and national pride deeply motivated the athletes and the sporting fraternity.
The occasion was further dignified by the presence of Shri Jagdish Singh “Jaggu”, eminent sports administrator and social leader, whose continued contribution to youth and sports development has earned national admiration.
