The Bengal Little Legends Cup 2026 – 10th West Bengal Inter School Karate Championship concluded with remarkable success, marking a significant milestone in the structured growth of school karate in West Bengal. Under the leadership and long-standing dedication of Hanshi Premjit Sen, the championship has evolved into one of the most prominent inter-school karate platforms in Eastern India.
Hosted at South City International School, the tournament witnessed participation from over 1,200 students representing 120 schools, reflecting the expanding reach and popularity of karate across the state. The event showcased discipline, technical excellence and competitive spirit at the grassroots level.
The championship was attended by distinguished dignitaries who acknowledged the sustained development of the sport in Bengal.
Former International Cricketer and Former CAB Administrator Mr. Sambaran Banerjee, who has known Premjit Sen for more than 20 years, remarked:
“I have observed his work for over two decades. Consistency and dedication have brought karate in Bengal to this scale. The foundation that has been built is strong, and the results are clearly visible.”
Vice President of the Bengal Olympic Association Mr. Kamalesh Chatterjee, associated with him for nearly 25 years, stated:
“Sustained effort over many years is what creates lasting success. The systematic development of young athletes through structured training programs is producing confident competitors for the state.”
Chairman & Principal Owner of Kolkata Thunder Bolt CA Pawan Kumar Patodia highlighted the inclusive nature of the platform:
“The encouragement of female participation is particularly impressive. Martial arts training builds confidence and leadership qualities among young girls, which is vital for society.”
Secretary of St. Stephen’s School Mr. Imran Zaki commented:
“The organization, discipline and execution of the championship demonstrate serious commitment toward student development through sports.”
Senior Advocate, High Court, Calcutta Mr. Nayan Chand Bihani added:
“Maintaining competitive integrity and international-level standards in such a large event requires strong leadership and clear vision.”
The event maintained high technical credibility with 100 National Level Referees, including five officials from the Asian Karate Federation and one Judge from the World Karate Federation, ensuring transparency and professional judging standards.
Addressing participants and guests, Hanshi Premjit Sen emphasized the deeper objective of the championship:
“Karate is not merely competition; it is a discipline that shapes character and courage. Our goal is to develop responsible individuals alongside champions. Empowering young girls through martial arts remains central to our mission. When discipline becomes a habit, success naturally follows.”
With record participation and expanding institutional support, the Bengal Little Legends Cup 2026 reinforces Bengal’s growing presence in the national karate landscape.
