KAB which is recognised by Bengal Olympic Association is led by Hanshi Premjit Sen and Kyoshi Joydeb Mondal has given a petition to the Honourable CM, Ms Mamata Banerjee.
Premjit Sen has mentioned some of the problems faced by the Karate coaches which are as follows-
1) There are thousands of Karate coaches in Bengal and since the lockdown, their dojos has been shut . Their livelihood is mainly based on the fees they receive at the end of each month .
2) These Karate coaches are not only deprived from earning their remuneration but also they are living in the constant fear of losing the students as they might lack interest after a such a long time gap. There are some coaches who are also facing problems from their landlords.
Moreover, Karate has numerous benefits mentioned by Premjit Sen and some of them are as follows-
Karate (Physical activity) may help flush bacteria out of the lungs and airways. This may reduce your chance of getting a cold, flu, or other illness.
Exercise causes change in antibodies and white blood cells (WBC). WBCs are the body’s immune system cells that fight disease. These antibodies or WBCs circulate more rapidly, so they could detect illnesses earlier than they might have before. However, no one knows whether these changes help prevent infections.
The brief rise in body temperature during and right after exercise may prevent bacteria from growing. This temperature rise may help the body fight infection better. (This is similar to what happens when you have a fever.)
Karate (Exercise) slows down the release of stress hormones. Some stress increases the chance of illness. Lower stress hormones may protect against illness.
Karate also plays a major role in boosting self esteem among people which is an important part of one’s character.
KAB has assured the Government of taking all the protective measures and strictly follow the guidelines pointed out by the Government so that they can start the Karate classes to help the numerous Karate coaches facing the problems .
