Gurpreet Singh Sandhu is the fourth Indian goalkeeper since from start to having been named for the Arjuna Award
Gurpreet is the 26th footballer to win the Arjuna Award. Gurpreet, who spent his all years in the AIFF Centre of Excellence in Goa, holds the position of being the only Indian to have played in the UEFA Europa League. He achieved that playing for Norwegian club Stabaek in June 2016, and he is also one of the youngest players to be captain of the Indian team.
After the announcement, Gurpreet said “I am thrilled and honored to be named for the Arjuna Award. I want this recognition to serve as an inspiration to everyone playing the sport in the country. My joy will then be complete,” Over the years, Gurpreet has become one of the top Indian footballers.
