Mary Kom is eyeing a record seventh World Championship gold medal in the AIBA World Boxing Championships starting on September 7, which will take her past the Cuban legend Felix Savon.
Mary Kom was adjudged the best female athlete at the ‘Awards for Asia’ ceremony organized by Asian Sportswriters Union (AIPS Asia) on Tuesday.
India’s six-time world champion Mary Kom bagged the award following her exploits in the Asian women boxing scene.

This time she will compete in the 51kg flyweight category — the one chosen for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics — and not the 48kg.
